What is Branding?

A brand is a name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers. Brands are used in business, marketing, and advertising. (Wikipedia)

This is what people think when they hear a brand’s name, but a Brand it’s way much more than that. When you think of sport shoes, probably your mind goes to Nike, Adidas and other famous Brands around the planet, that name, that logo, that quick connection of your brain with their organization, that’s branding. It gives you worldwide recognition.

The logo is the most important element of branding, especially where this factor is concerned, as it is essentially the face of the company. This is why a professional logo design should be powerful and easily memorable, making an impression on a person at first glance. (BrandingMag)

Branding can also increase the value of your business by just being there, example; McDonalds partners with Oreo to create McFlurry. Both names are brands, both are known around the planet, mixing them gives value to the new product and tell consumers more than they can read. You want your branding to be easy to remember as this will create new customers.

If I think of McDonalds, my mind remembers quickly how cheap is their food, quick service and the quality of the food, it probably even makes you hungry. That’s the power of Branding.

It can also help your own career when you use a Brand to describe your past experience, you get higher chances for your next job after saying you worked for Apple, that’s because people know how big and professional the company is by just listening to their name. As you can imagine, having a nice branding brings customers daily without any effort, get people to talk about your brand in a good way and have a great logo that describes what you do.
